button wreath

My Creation

Have been meaning to make one of these for some time but haven't been able to find a suitable base as none of the local shops supple them.
When browsing I came upon this easy solution - so easy why didn't I think of it before?
Take a 2 lengths of kitchen foil - the length of the circumference of required size. If you are making a larger size you will probably need a couple more layers to make it sturdy. I used the lid of a storage jar. Roll up the foil, join into a circle and squish together. Wrap around with ribbon, cotton tape, twine etc. The attached buttons, bows or whatever you fancy. You can glue them on but I chose to sew them. I used vintage and new buttons in various shades of white, some sequin leaves, butterflies, flowers and paper roses. I also attached some gathered lace. Sewed on a lace hanger and voila I have a little wreath to hang on my door.
Some of the buttons look coloured in the photo but they are shades of white
Ooops I see a couple of spaces that require some more buttons............
