hairpin loom

My Creation

Been making tools again, or rather getting Michael to make them for me!
From some off cuts of wood Michael has made me a hairpin loom for crochet. Four pieces of wood were cut to size clamped together and drilled through each end for placement of the wing nuts. The wood still clamped was turned on it side and holes evenly spaced for the placement of the prongs made through each pair. I am using knitting needles for the prongs of various sizeand thickness of yarn, so I can vary the size of the lace crochet.
I am now attempting to make some! I haven't got the tension sorted so I will have to practice. You can also use it for beading bracelets as per a tutorial I found so that will be another project in the pipeline!
